There is no formal assessment conducted by external board at this stage, however students undergo a variety of school organised assessments  to measure their progress and understanding of the core subjects and elective subjects. These assessments are designed to provide feedback on students’ academic performance and help teachers identify areas where additional support may be required. The types of exams and assessments that take place during S1-S3 can include:

• Classroom Assessments: These are ongoing assessments conducted by teachers in the classroom. They may include quizzes, tests, written assignments, presentations, group projects, and class participation evaluations.
• End-of-Topic or Unit Tests: Teachers often administer tests at the end of each topic or unit to gauge students’ comprehension of the material covered. These tests help assess how well students have grasped the key concepts and skills.
• Coursework: Coursework assignments are an essential part of the assessment process in S1-S3. Students are given specific tasks or projects to complete, which allow them to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world contexts.
• Internal Examinations: Some schools conduct internal examinations that cover the material taught throughout the year. These exams may occur at the end of each term or academic year.
• Standardized Assessments: Schools may use standardized tests or assessments to measure students’ academic progress in comparison to national or regional benchmarks. These assessments can cover various subjects and are often taken at specific points during the school year.
• Practical Assessments: For subjects like Sciences and Expressive Arts, practical assessments may be conducted to evaluate students’ ability to carry out experiments, create artworks, or perform in music or drama.
• Portfolios: Students may compile portfolios that showcase their work, progress, and achievements in various subjects over a period of time.
• Continuous Assessment: Teachers continuously monitor students’ performance through daily class activities, homework, and class participation. This ongoing assessment provides valuable feedback to guide students’ learning and development.

It’s essential to note that the assessment methods may vary from school to school and depending on the specific subjects studied. The focus of assessments during S1-S3 is to support students’ learning, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and help them progress smoothly to the next stages of their educational journey in the Senior Phase (S4-S6).
